While Clarks themselves have never really fully acknowledged the substantial impact of Jamaican music on their brand, from Little John to Vybz Kartel, UK writer & designer Al Fingers most certainly has. He’s currently readying his new book, Clarks in Jamaica, which takes a deep and stylish look into the phenomenon of the Somerset shoe brand that has been Jamaica’s (and dancehall’s) shoe of choice for gangsters, schoolchildren, policeman and deejays alike. It’ll feature exclusive interviews, photographs, song quotations and a comprehensive analysis of Clarks’ legacy in reggae. Everybody haffi ask, where they get their Clarks…
The book will be published in Autumn this year by One Love Books.
