Here are some big tracks to ease those post-carnival blues from your pals at Shimmy Shimmy.
If you’re hungry for hot new riddims this week, you can’t go wrong with the Food Time Riddim from Bread Back Productions. There are some huge cuts from man like Capleton, Lutan Fyah and Sizzla but it is really all about Lady Saw’s incendiary ‘Ride It’.
Also fresh this week is the Dark Clouds Riddim from Stashment Productions. We have tunes from Tommy Lee, Khago, Flexxx and another banger from Lady Saw but I-Octane takes the crown with ‘Straight’.
And finally we have a new club track from Leftside, appropriately entitled ‘Da’Weekend’. Like a lot of his recent productions this track has a distinctly European flavour, Lefty has obviously been studying his Ministry of Sound compilations.
Vocals come care of the very talented Zia Benjamin, whose cadence reminds me of the late Natasja. All in all, this has the makings of a Saturday Night Special, expect to hear it a lot in the coming weeks.
